Contribution to the factory io project 131 (Inserting boxes into a box, precision operation)

Hello:

Let’s put the precision of Factory I/O to the test; I challenge the community to build this scene. While the programming is straightforward, creating and fine-tuning the scene itself is a different story.

Since this is a precision-based scene—and students need to learn how to build and calibrate machinery—we won’t be sharing the file. I want you to think through and reason out how to make the robot pick a specific box from between two others. You’ll need to figure out how to maneuver the robot—given the width constraints of the two conveyors—so it descends between the target box and the destination box, tips the target box over with high precision, lifts it (along with the other box) toward the stop, and reacts differently depending on whether a large box is present or not. It involves three distinct, interconnected maneuvers, and the system must select the right one for the situation at hand—a true challenge from start to finish for anyone brave enough to tackle it.

There will be a follow-up: we’ll fine-tune the setup and configure the HMI. Stay tuned…

Regards
