I was wondering if Factory IO allows connection of two water tanks like shown in the picture. They need to work in a way that one tank is being filled from the top and another tank is being filled from the bottom, both are connected through their discharge valves.

At the moment, this is not possible. We are currently developing a liquid distribution system for Factory I/O that includes tanks, pipes, valves, pumps, and sensors (pressure, level, and flow). However, this new system has a limitation: tanks cannot be filled from the top.
Perhaps a check valve could be a viable solution. Could you share more details about what you are trying to simulate? Your input would help us better understand the requirements of this system.

I would try to simulate something like shown on a picture above. Two connected tanks, first one is being filled from the top just like in current tank model in factory but the second tank is being filled from the bottom, the reson for this type of connection is I would like to try to build a plc programme that regulates the opening of the valve with PID method, combining tia portal and factory io. Factory serves as a great simulator and I already have some experience with combining tia and factory.
