Hi. I am using tia portal v20 and i wanna connect to Factory IO with using s7-plc sim v20.
But software showed to me an alarm like this.
“Please make sure you are using the correct template and s7-plcsim is set to Run mode.”
My plc type is s7-1200 series. Plc sim and tia portal connected properly. But i could not connect with Factory IO.

To connect Factory I/O with TIAPortal’s PLCSIM, you need to download our template. I can’t tell from your post if you have done this.
In case you haven’t, you can find the template here. Please note that we have one template for the S7-1200 and another one for the S7-1500, so make sure you get the one you need.

We have tested the templates on TIAPortal V20, and they open correctly. The error you shared indicates that the path to the file is invalid.
It seems like you could be trying to open the template directly from the zipped folder. Did you extract the zip file?
You have to open the file named FactoryIO_Template_S7-1200_V15.ap15 in TIAPortal, and for that you first have to extract the files.
