Contribution to the factory io project 87 (Access control from a database in an HMI using scripts)

Hello:

This project is presented as a required assignment for all students who want to pass the course. I have a feeling it’s going to be one of the most instructive videos on my channel (and there are already several very instructive ones), but this one has something I sense, and I don’t know what it is, but we’ll see. Perhaps it’s what I sense—something that will happen between the scripts on the screen and the PLC’s hourly calculations.

As always, thanks to FACTORY IO, today we have a tool that is exactly what’s needed to learn to program, nothing more, nothing less. I’m sure the creators of the simulator never imagined their work would be so productive and so extensive, which is worth mentioning.

Regars

Hello:

The next project, while not heavily reliant on Factory IO, will allow us to analyze and study a type of communication that, to my knowledge, no one has attempted until now. It’s only possible with a certain level of scripting knowledge, which, I repeat, has been achieved thanks to this simulator. To date, the full potential of what this simulator can offer students with a little analytical ability and a willingness to learn programming is unknown.

If everything went well, this is the result. I hope to see it online soon.

The scene is already shared on this site if anyone is interested, but if you want it and it’s of interest to you, you can request it here or by email and I’ll send it to you.

Regards.

Hello:

As I mentioned at the beginning of this thread, this case isn’t for FACTORY IO beyond what’s already been done, but we owe everything to FACTORY IO, because without it this project wouldn’t have been possible.

It involves creating an OPC interface so that the HMI can access files stored on a PC, using this same project.

I think it’s worth sharing here so that students and professors who come here to consult on topics related to industrial programming can at least know that what they see is possible.
