No, the license doesn’t need to be a one-time purchase to be used as standalone.
Each license can be used both as standalone or floating.
For using the license as standalone, you need to use the serial key and have internet connection for activation and deactivation purposes.
For using the license as floating, you need to use the share code and to have internet access at all times. You will be able to change the share code as many times as you need.
