Just starting with Factory I/O – Does a realistic wedge merge exist in some pack?

Hi everyone,

I’m pretty new to Factory I/O and I’m trying to build a realistic 6-line smart merge (exactly like the one I just uploaded here: https://youtu.be/yv-UvWrfGIA).

The only merging part I can find is the Straight Spur Conveyor, but because it’s completely flat the boxes bump and jam a lot. In real life we always use a tapered wedge (30° or 45°) that narrows at the end so the package slides in smoothly.

My question is very simple:
Does anybody know if there is any hidden/updated library, Ultimate Edition pack, or maybe a shared .fio file from the community that already has a proper wedge merge (main line straight + angled tapered infeed)?

I would really appreciate any link or file. I just want the simulation to look and behave a bit closer to a real distribution center.

Thanks a lot and sorry if this has been asked before!

Hello @riveraedgardo2512,

First of all, thank you for the insight into how these merge conveyors are made and used in real-life applications. We will be sure to consider this feedback when developing these parts in the future.

Regarding your question about other libraries or packs that might include/add a wedge merge, the answer is that there isn’t. The parts that exist for Factory I/O are the ones you already have, and these are the same no matter what edition of Factory I/O you own. We do hope to change this in the future.
