Hello I have a problem bringing data to plc sim. Digital I/O s work aswell as the output from plcsim to factory io but from factory io to plcsim doesn’t work. If I switch plcsim into stop and back on i get the correct value in my variable but from there on it doesn’t update.

I’d like to clarify what you said just so I’m sure I understand your problem.
The signals from PLCSIM are reaching Factory I/O, but the signals from Factory I/O are not reaching PLCSIM. Is that it?
Which TIAPortal version are you using?
What PLCSIM are you using? Is it TIAPortal’s PLCSIM or is it PLCSIM Advanced?
What PLCSIM version are you using?
Are you simulating an S7-1200 or S7-1500 PLC?
Which Factory I/O version are you using?
bool signals are reaching PLCSIM but real or word aren’t.

I’m simulating S7-1200 G2
it does work with S7-1200 but not with the G2

I’ve run some tests on my end, and I found the same issue. We’re not sure what’s causing this, so we’ll investigate it a bit further, and I’ll let you know once we make some progress.
In the meantime, please try to use the S7-1200 as a workaround.

We’ve determined the cause of the issue.
The S7-1200 G2 requires additional IO modules, and the Main block is missing a Function Block to access the new modules.
We’ve updated the template to include these changes and made it ready for use. I’ll share it with you here so you can use it. We will later update our documentation to include the new template.
